Nehru Yuva Kendra Chandigarh, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, today orgainsed District level Yuva Utsav-lndia @2047 , in collaboration with District Administration, U.T., Chandigarh at Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-42, Chandigarh. The Theme for Yuva Utsav was “Panch Pran”, as narrated by Hon’ble PM during his Independence Day Speech on 15th August 2022.The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri Vinay Pratap Singh, IAS,Deputy Commissioner, UT Chandigarh.

Yuva Utsav is a one -day program with holistic initiative to provide both opportunity and platform to young people to showcase their varied talents on larger scale and also express their viewpoints on various issues on community and social welfare. The Aim of the program is to rekindle the spirit of patriotism and values of India’s Freedom Struggle by engaging the youth in various events progressing from District level to State and National Levels, to celebrate the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in the spirit of Yuva Shakti and to generate appreciation about the diverse spiritual and cultural heritage of our country among the masses.

The main objective of the program was to celebrate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava in the spirit of Yuva Shakti, to spread the ideals and values of India’s Freedom Struggle during the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence, to generate appreciation about the diverse spiritual and cultural heritage among the masses, to form a fraternity of young artists, writers, photographers, and orators of the country under the mentorship of experts.

The event had stalls participation by various government departments of District Administration namely Department of Higher Education, , Department of School Education, Sports Department, Skill Development Mission, Department of Health, and Self –Help Groups by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Chandigarh and an exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by Central Bureau of Chandigarh , Government of India.

This one day event had participation of around 200 students in competitions of 5 different categories: Young Artist Contest-Painting, Young Artist winner Contest-Poetry, Photography Contest, Declamation Contest on the theme of Panch Pran of Amritkaal, Cultural Festival- Group Events wherein , Youth in the age group of 15- 29 years participated. The welcome note was given by the Principal, PG Government College for Girls, Ms Nisha Aggarwal. District Youth Officer Ms Sanjana Vats welcome the Chief Guest and also apprised of the events for the day at Yuva Utsav. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Vinay Pratap Singh, IAS,Deputy Commissioner, UT Chandigarh interacted with the students while encouraging them to follow the “Panch Pran”, as narrated by Hon’ble PM during his Independence Day Speech on 15th August 2022.He also stressed upon the fact that , development of the youth must also lay focus on preserving their heritage and culture for the future. The event concluded with the prize distribution to all the competition winners.
