Labour Department, UT, Chandigarh has organized a mega camp on 08.11.2022 regarding registration of unorganized workers, BoC workers, industrial workers.

Chandigarh,8thNovember,2022.The Labour Department, UT, Chandigarh has organized a mega camp on 08.11.2022 regarding registration of unorganized workers, BoC workers, industrial workers wherein the department and its allied boards made the general public aware of the welfare schemes being granted to the registered beneficiary workers under the Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Act, 1996 and industrial workers who are covered under Punjab Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965.

In this camp, the department has mobilized around 750 workers viz. unorganized workers, BoC workers and industrial workers and made them aware regarding the online procedure for availing the various welfare schemes and other benefits being provided by the department and its allied boards. The Assistant Labour Commissioner-cum-Joint Secretary (CBOCW Board) provided the FDRs to the registered beneficiary workers who are blessed with girl child and also provided BoC registration card to the eligible workers.This camp will continue till 10.11.2022 at Satsang Bhawan, SabziMandi, Sector 26, Chandigarh with the assistance of representatives of Common Service Centre (CSCs).Further, the Labour Department, UT, Chandigarh has also planned to organize more such camps so that the maximum number of unorganized workers, industrial workers and BoC workers can be made aware regarding social security schemes and other facilities being provided by the department and its allied boards in near future
