Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij today received a cheque to the tune of Rs. 1 crore to support the state’s fight against COVID-19 .

Chandigarh, July 6 – Haryana Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij today received a cheque to the tune of Rs. 1 crore to support the state’s fight against COVID-19 from Procter & Gamble (P&G), South Asia Corporate Affair Head, Sh. Sachin Saini and Senior Manager-GR, Sh. J.P. Bhadola.

On the occasion, Procter & Gamble, South Asia Corporate Affair Head, Sh. Sachin Saini shared that the amount is being given under company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) so as to curtail the spread of COVID-19.

He further added that P&G is committed to ensure the welfare of its employees as well as its consumers and has been distributing masks and sanitizers at regular intervals to prevent further spread of COVID-19.

Chandigarh, July 6: Haryana Government has issued promotion orders of Smt. Meena Kumari and Sh. Sunil Hooda Private Secretaries, Law and Legislative Department as Under Secretary (General) with immediate effect.

Chandigarh, July 6- Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the state’s excellent excise policy is yielding positive results. During the first quarter of 2021-22 (April to June 2021), revenue collections from excise have been Rs 1751.04 crore against Rs 1370.86 during the same period in the previous year, registering an increase of about 28 percent.

Sh. Dushyant Chautala, who also holds the portfolio of Excise and Taxation Department, said here today that during the month of June, 2021, the Excise Wing of the department has collected a revenue of Rs. 1004.70 crore whereas during the month of June, 2020, a revenue of Rs. 586.32 crore only was collected. Thus, excise revenue has increased by 71.36% in the month of June over the previous year.

Describing the Excise Policy of the Haryana government as an exemplary policy, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Excise Policy formulated by the Government for the year 2020-21 has taken due care to introduce transparency in allotment of liquor vends through renewal or e-tendering. A total of 1004 zones of retail liquor vends have been renewed in 2021-22 and the department has achieved a revenue of Rs. 3201.46 crore from renewal of these zones against license fee of Rs. 2910 crore in the previous year.

He informed that the process of allotment of remaining 159 zones for e-tendering has already started as per decision taken by the Government. Till now, the 12 rounds through e-tendering have been successfully completed. Total 1123 zones have been allotted so far, from which license fee of Rs. 3601 crore shall be collected in the year 2021-22 for these zones. Only 40 zones are now pending in the State for which bids are invited on July, 5, 2021. Reserve price of these vends is Rs. 251 crore respectively.

Shri Dushyant Chautala also informed that L-1BF licenses for wholesale trade of Imported Foreign Liquor (BIO) in the State of Haryana for the financial year 2021-22 have been granted by way of inviting online applications. A total of 14 applicants have been shortlisted as eligible applicants for grant of L-1BF after receiving their applications through online departmental portal.

He informed that a total of 90 breach cases of lockdown period were instituted. All of these cases have been decided now and a total penalty of Rs.63,15,17,600 has been imposed under Section 72-E of the Punjab Excise Haryana Amendment Act, 2020. It is submitted that out of this amount, recovery of Rs.6,56,59,853 has been made. It is further submitted that a number of these licensees have filed appeal before ETC.

He also informed that during the year 2020-21, a total of 1152 cases of violation of rules were registered in which a fine of Rs. 186.96 crore was imposed, out of which Rs. 60.08 crore has also been recovered.

The Deputy Chief Minister informed that during the year 2021-22, the State Government has given a rebate of about 8 percent in the fees for bar-licence. This year bar license holders will have to pay only 11 months fee.

He also informed that CCTV cameras are being installed in Distilleries/ Breweries/ Bottling Plants to check sale of liquor without paying tax and to prevent loss of revenue. To monitor all this, a control room is also being set up in the head office at Panchkula.

Chandigarh, July 6- Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Sh. Om Prakash Yadav said that the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in the state will be done according to the new National Scheme for persons with disabilities. Under this Scheme, they will be physically, financially and educationally strengthened.

In the review meeting of the Department today, Sh. Yadav directed the officers to work accordingly. For this, efforts should be made to identify children and adults with physical disabilities and provide them treatment and aid accordingly. Along with this, Government offices, Hospitals, Police Stations and other buildings should be made accessible and disabled friendly for them so that they can get their work done easily. He also directed to prepare a draft for providing electric tricycles to the persons with physical disabilities.

Sh. Yadav said that the officers of the Department have been instructed to prepare a plan for the next three months to uplift various categories and beneficiaries. For this, instructions have been given to prepare a new plan for people engaged in sports, cultural and innovation activities. He said that punitive action under IPC Sections can also be taken against the people who harass them.

The Minister said that earlier 7 types of disability were notified in the country, which has been expanded to 21 by the Central Government. This will provide more benefits to different categories of persons with disabilities. He said that due to the people-friendly policies of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, a financial assistance and pension facility is being provided to 1.80 lakh persons with disabilities in Haryana.

On this occasion, the Director of the Department Mr. Jagdeep Singh Sheron, Deputy Director, Dr. Aditya and other senior officers were present.

Chandigarh, July 6- Haryana Sahitya Akademi is starting 14 new ‘Yuva Shrestha Kriti Puraskar’ in various genres of Hindi and Haryanvi language from the year 2021, under which prize money of Rs. 31,000 each will be given to the winners.

Giving information in this regard, Director, Haryana Sahitya Akademi, Dr. Chander Trikha, said that on the special directions of the Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, who is also the Chairman of Haryana Sahitya Akademi, the number of ‘Yuva Lekhak Samman Puraskar’ awarded in the state has also has been increased from two to four. In addition to this, the winner will be given an honorarium of Rs. 1 lakh instead of Rs. 50,000.

He said that a new literature award has also been approved by the Chief Minister in honour of the folk poet Sh. Dayachand Mayna for his remarkable contribution towards the folk literature and culture of the State through Haryanvi language. He said that this award is being started by the Haryana Sahitya Akademi from the year 2021 under the category of folk literature and culture under the name ‘Lok Kavi Dayachand Mayna Samman’. The amount of this award will be Rs. 2 Lakh.

It will be worth mentioning here that after the approval of the Chief Minister, the results of the pending literary awards (total 38), Shrestha Kriti Puraskar (total 37) and Manuscript (Pandulipi) Awards (total 75) schemes for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 were also announced by the Akademi few days back. In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the amount of all these prizes has been deposited directly into the bank accounts of the winners.

Chandigarh, July 6: While taking forward Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal’s vision of adopting zero tolerance and transparently providing government services, Haryana Right to Service Commission has recommended the State Government to bring 53 services being provided by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HSVP) under the purview of essential services.

Besides this, the Commission has also recommended the State Government rationalize the time limit prescribed for various services.

Sharing more details in this regard, Chief Commissioner of the Commission, Sh. T.C. Gupta said that this decision was taken in the 36th meeting held on July 5, 2021. The work done by the Commission during the month of May and June was also reviewed in the meeting.

He said that it has come to the notice of the Commission that at present 16 services have been notified by HSVP. However, 53 services are shown on its website. The commission has recommended the government to notify all these 53 services.

Sh. T.C Gupta said that there is also a need to rationalize the time limit notified for services as this time frame dates back to the era when services were provided manually. But now that services are being provided online, they should also be made practical.

Giving the example of acceptance of building plan, Sh. T.C Gupta said that 30 days time limit has been notified for approval of the building plan but in the case of residential buildings only three days time limit is shown on the HSVP website.

The Chief Commissioner said that the Commission would work to ensure that the services provided by various departments under the Right to Service Act are available to the general public within the stipulated time frame. Also, this time frame is made practical, he added.

He said that the number of services being provided under the Act will also be increased.

Referring to the ambitious target of the Commission, he said that the number of services being provided under the Act will be increased from 551 to 1000 by the end of this year.

Commission would not only ensure timely service delivery but also make the public aware of the services so that they could know their rights and demands, said Sh. T.C Gupta.
