State Vigilance Bureau nabs two police officials while accepting bribes.

Chandigarh July 5: Two teams of State Vigilance Bureau (SVB), Haryana today arrested two police officials red handed while accepting bribe worth Rs. 2 lakh and Rs 4000 respectively. Both the officials have been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Sharing more details in this regard, a spokesperson of Bureau said that the first case is related to Sirsa district, wherein the SVB team had caught Sub Inspector (SI) Ajay Kumar, Incharge CIA, Dabwali while accepting bribe of Rs. 2 lakh from complainant Sukhbir Singh resident of Sector-20, Sirsa.

The spokesperson said that complainant Sh. Sukhbir Singh had approached the Bureau alleging that his father aged about 75 years was undergoing imprisonment of 10 years under NDPS Act and was on Parole. He could not return to Jail in time due to illness and COVID-19 Pandemic, as such, a case under Parole Act was registered against him.

The said CIA Incharge was demanding bribe of Rs. 2 lakh in lieu of not arresting his father in this case. He said CIA Incharge was also threatening them that if the demand is not fulfilled, he will also arrest the family members for giving shelter to the accused, said the spokesperson.

The spokesperson said that complainant further told that the said CIA Incharge is continuously demanding the bribe through mobile phone and he has recorded all these calls and then the complainant had requested SVB to take legal action against the CIA Incharge Ajay Kumar.

The Vigilance Bureau acted promptly on the complaint and a case under Section 7 PC Act has been registered in the Police Station SVB, Hisar. A team headed by DSP Kailash Chand has been constituted, who arrested the said CIA Incharge Ajay Kumar in the presence of Duty Magistrate Sh. Gurdev Singh, Tehsildar, Sirsa, while accepting bribe of Rs. 2 lakh from the complainant, said the spokesperson.

The spokesperson further said that in another case, Sub Inspector Jeet Ram of Police Station Bhattu Kalan, Fatehabad district has been apprehended by the Vigilance Bureau while accepting bribe of Rs. 4,000 from complainant Sh. Sehdev resident of Village Ban Mandori.

He said that the complainant informed the Bureau that he had an accident with his Alto car on June 7, 2021. The said Sub Inspector threatened him and demanded Rs. 10,000 for not registering the Criminal case in the matter. Later, he agreed to pay Rs. 7,000 for this and Rs. 4,000 was to be paid today.

On the basis of this information, a case under Section 7 PC Act has been registered in the Police Station SVB, Hisar. A team headed by DSP Rakesh Kumar has been constituted, who arrested the said CIA Incharge Ajay Kumar in the presence of Duty Magistrate Sh. Rajesh Garg, Nayab Tehsildar, Fatehabad, while accepting bribe of Rs. 4,000 from the complainant, said the spokesperson.

Both the cases are under investigation. The accused are being interrogated thoroughly, added the spokesperson.

Chandigarh, July 5: Haryana Government has decided to constitute a High Power Committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for Rationalization of the organizational structure and modification of Departmental Service Rules. This committee will examine the reports of each department submitted by the designated officers and give its recommendations for final decision.

Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the Administrative Secretary of the Finance and Planning Department, the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and the Principal Secretary, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department and the Civil Resources Information Department, the Administrative Secretary, who submitted the report of the departments assigned to him, the Administrative Secretary of the concerned department, Department of Administrative Reforms, Secretary / Special Secretary and Secretary / Special Secretary, Political and Services will be the members of this committee. The Principal Secretary, General Administration Department will be the member secretary of this committee.

Chandigarh, July 5 – Haryana’s Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, (DITECH) was awarded IMC Digital Technology Awards 2020 for ‘State Award for Citizen Centric IT Projects including COVID initiatives’ under Government category by IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

While stating this here today, an official spokesperson of the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications said that the event was held online and all the applicants and winners joined virtually. The award was received by Head State eGov Team, DITECH on behalf of the Department of IT Electronics & Communication, Haryana, Sh. Munish Chandan.

He informed that these awards are given by the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry and are in line with the National Agenda set by the Prime Minister towards creating a Digital India, Atmanirbhar Bharat. He emphasized that IMC recognizes and honours those organizations and individuals who have contributed to making life easier by adopting technology. In addition, these awards also recognize the achievements of IT industry innovation and digital of organizations in various fields.

He shared that the Haryana has been nominated for top 8 citizen citizen centric implementations initiated during the COVID-19 lockdown period, including e-Kharid portal, COVID Sampling portal, Healthy Haryana Mobile App, COVID 19 Sero Survey Mobile App etc.

The spokesperson added that the most productive of all government departments is the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, which had represented the state in eight entries of which three were outstanding. He added that all of these implementations will drive and support the customers, who are the citizens of the country.

He stated that all nominations submitted for the IMC Digital Technology Awards 2020 were accepted by the jury who were impressed by these nominations. He added that all nominations were categorized as excellent and timely implementations which have been the need of the hour.

The spokesperson said that it would be worth mentioning here that the IMC Group informed the state that the jury panel unanimously agreed to give State Award to Haryana instead of granting awards to individual projects for their overall proactive approach towards innovative digital contributions for the benefit of citizens during the COVID-19 crisis. He said that Haryana has been a pioneer state in implementing citizen centric e-governance initiatives during the COVID crisis.

He said that Digital Haryana initiatives being executed under the broad Digital India programme has brought in transparency and helped in reducing corruption in government offices. Major eGovernance initiatives like eKharid, Antyodaya SARAL, Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB) portals, COVID initiatives, place Haryana in top IT implementation States across the country.

Chandigarh, July 5 – Haryana’s School Education Department has directed all private schools in the State to update their Management Information System (MIS) to provide accurate information regarding enrollment of students in the schools.

Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson of the Education Department said that last year 29 lakh students were enrolled in private schools of the State, out of which only 17 lakh students have been updated on MIS by them so far.

He said that the Management Information System of the Education Department is for covering all government and private schools, through which the admissions can be actively monitored through a Unique Student Registration Number (SRN) given to every student.

He said that private schools are not updating the students on the portal at a faster pace, whereas the rights are with the schools and the students can be updated on the portal only from the login of the school. He informed that 12 lakh children are still on the portal but they have not been updated on MIS whereas private schools can update MIS at a single click.

He informed that the Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal has directed the private schools to update their MIS immediately. He said that currently 12 lakh children are on the MIS portal, there is no chance of any drop out or disappearance regarding the same. He said that after the stipulated time frame, strict action would be taken against the schools if they are not able to update the complete record on the portal.

The spokesperson said that the department had taken deep cognizance of these 12 lakh children and all the District Education Officers and District Primary Education Officers were directed to discuss with all the private schools in this regard and get this enrollment updated on MIS. Apart from this, the associations of private schools were also apprised in this regard and they were instructed that all such schools, who are going slow in their record updation should gear up their pace.

The spokesperson said that in a meeting chaired by the Education Minister, the decision was taken to open schools for teachers from May 1, 2021 with the aim of reducing the dropout rate in schools to zero during Covid-19. After this, online admissions of students were started so that the parents should not be inconvenienced and after assessing the enrollment on 30th May, 2021 it was found that the parents are not much interested in sending their children to school. In view of this, the admission date was extended till June 30, 2021 by the Education Minister.

He said that as a result of continuous efforts and hard work initiated by the Government schools, 23.60 lakh students were enrolled and thus 1.60 lakh more children were admitted in the school as compared to the last year. He said that it is the endeavour of the government that every child should go to school and their MIS should be correspondingly updated.

Chandigarh, July 5 –Department of School Education, Haryana has today started online registration of students for Batch 2021-23 under ‘Super-100’ programme and the registration link will remain open till July 10, 2021.

Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson of the Department said that the students who have qualified Class X from Government schools and pursuing Class XI studies with science stream in Government schools will only be eligible for batch 2021-23. He said that Department has given instructions to all the District Education Officers of the state that at the time of registration, the student should fulfill the eligibility criteria as prescribed for ‘NEET-2023’.
