Chandigarh, November 8 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the government has decided to permit people to sell and burst firecrackers for only two hours on Diwali in the state. This decision has been taken in view of the rising levels of pollution while adhering to the guidelines issued by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to decrease air pollution.

The Chief Minister said this while interacting informally with the mediapersons in Daulatapur village of Fatehabad today. The Chief Minister said that citizens can only burst crackers for two hours on Diwali in the state. It has been observed that there has been a spike in corona infected patients due to air pollution. In order to reduce pollution and to prevent the spread of corona infection, selling and bursting crackers has been prohibited.

While responding to a question regarding the increase in fee of MBBS course the Chief Minister said that it has been marginally increased. Elaborating on it further he added that there had been no increase in the fee for several years. He said that compared to other states, medical fees is still very minimal in Haryana. On the question pertaining to submitting bonds worth ten lakh, the Chief Minister said that it has been included so that after pursuing MBBS, students can work in the state and provide their services to the people of the state. He said that the bonds are being submitted to increase the inclination of students towards working in the state.

The Chief Minister said that the farmer agitation in the state is ineffective. All three Farm Act are in favour of the farmers. He added that the Congress was trying to mislead the farmers and the real face of the Congress Party was revealed in the Vidhan Sabha Session. The people of the state witnessed the dirty politics of the Congress Party as the latter did not participate in the discussion during the Vidhan Sabha Session. In a democratic system, it is necessary to have discussion which is followed by voting, he added.

In reply to another question, Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that the Bihar results and exit poll have no significance on the political scenario of Haryana. On the incident of death due to poisonous liquor in Sonipat, the Chief Minister said that such incidents inappropriate. Taking cognisance of this, the State Government has directed to register an FIR. He said that relief amount has also been announced by the government to the families of the deceased. He said that strict action will be taken against those found guilty of selling illicit liquor.

Responding to the query regarding Dera Chief going on parole, the Chief Minister said that according to the Jail Manual, the local Jail Administration has the authority of giving parole from Sunrise to Sunset. He added that security-related matters are taken up by the District Administration and parole has been given in accordance to the rules.

Chandigarh, November 8 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that posts of around 1,000 AYUSH assistants have been approved so as to encourage yoga education across schools in the state. Besides, 560 gymnasiums have also been set up in the state so far and 600 gymnasiums will soon be set up.

The Chief Minister gave this information while addressing the Yoga Training Camp of the teachers of the Education Department through video conferencing from Panipat today. It was organised under the joint aegis of Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad and Haryana Yog Parishad. This training programme will be functional at 6,000 schools in three phases wherein Yoga will be included in the morning meetings.

He said that practising yoga, exercise, pranayama have been very beneficial during the Corona period, likewise, yoga practice shall be continued to cure other disorders of the body. He said that yoga brings skill in karma, so this training camp for teachers will be for one week, in which 2,200 teachers will be imparted yoga training in the first phase. He said that this is the ideal time to ensure that yoga is a part of every person’s life. Ashtayoga, the action-reaction that connects the mind, soul and body, has been called yoga practice. He said that the United Nations has recognised Yoga and today 200 countries of the world are adopting Yoga. Yoga is popular across the world due to this.

The Chief Minister said that Yoga helps in keeping a person physically and mentally sound. In ancient times, when education was imparted in Gurukul, teachers and children were proficient in every type of yoga and carried it forward. It is only through yoga that one can overcome the stress and worries of life because moderation, tolerance is possible only through yoga. He said that competitions related to yoga will be organised from the block level to the state level. Elaborating on the importance of yoga he said that yoga brings efficiency in karma and makes the mind stable. The practitioner of yoga has also been called a yogi. Now, the time has come that every person should become a yogi and practices it.

In this video conferencing, Education Minister Mr. Kanwar Pal who joined from Yamunanagar said that a healthy body has a healthy mind and soul. He added that Yoga is India’s identity. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Baba Ramdev for promoting Yoga across the world. He also thanked Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal for personally taking interest in spread of yoga education. He said that yoga is necessary to build the character of children.

Assembly Speaker Mr. Gian Chand Gupta, who joined the video conferencing from Panchkula thanked all the teachers as well as officers of the Education Department and the State Government for organising this event.

Haryana Yog Parishad, Chairman Dr. Jaideep Arya said that the yoga culture has been strengthened through the constitution of Haryana Yog Parishad by the State Government and this will ensure further avenues for development of yoga.
