Gandhi Jayanti Celebration.

Chandigarh-3/20To mark the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the students of DCM Group of Schools enthusiastically took part in the online celebration. To revere the day, students and teachers participated in a special assembly to commemorate thelife of the Mahatma and his teachings. The students presented a power point presentation highlighting the teachings and Gandhian philosophy. Through a skit, the students presentedthe journey of ‘Mohandas to Mahatma’. Theyfurther conveyed the message of peace which Gandhi ji is symbolic of. The tiny-tots did not fail to participate in the big event. They conveyed the message of peace through small videos and postersshowing their respect to their favouriteleader whom they call ‘bapu’lovingly.The singing of the bhajan, ‘Vaishnava janto andSabermatikesant’ aptly matched with the philosophy of ‘simple living and high thinking’.The videos on cleanliness were also shared by the students in which they conveyed a clear message of keeping our surroundings clean and green. The Director of the Schools, Mr. Bharat B Gupta expressed his elation on seeing such a huge participation of the students despite having limitations of COVID on this special day. While quoting the message of Gandhi ji, he said that the need of the moment is not one religion but mutual respect and tolerance of different religions.Only then we can have a secular country which was the dream of the greatest leader of the world. He also encouraged everyone to be the one if they want to see the change in others. The assembly ended with the singing of National anthem.
