Chandigarh, October 16 – Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. Anurag Agarwal, today launched the new user friendly website of the department www.ceoharyana.gov.in. The Chief Electoral Officer said that this website will be helpful for voters and for all the users. He said that the
complete information about the voters in the State and all the contesting candidates has been made available on the website. He further added that latest information related to elections, affidavits of candidates, the total number of polling booths, and information of booth level officers, complete voter list and other necessary information are also made available on this website.

Mr. Agarwal said that the details of the voting, scheduled to be held on October 21 and counting of votes, to be done on October 24 will be available on this website. He said that along with this, videos and audio clips designed to make voters aware have also been uploaded on this website. He said that with the help of this website, voters will be motivated to participate for maximum voting in the upcoming polls.

The Chief Electoral Officer praised the NIC officials and election department officials for designing the new website in such short span of time. Parsing the NIC officials and election department officials, Mr. Anurag Agarwal said that it is really commendable that data of the old website was migrated on the new website in just three days. He said that whenever a user will click on the old website of www.ceoharyana.nic.in, will be automatically redirected to the new link www.ceoharyana.gov.in.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. D.K Behera, Joint Chief Electoral Officers, Dr. Inder Jeet and Mr. Apurv, Nodal Officer social media, Mr. Rajnarayan Kaushik, Nodal Officer MCMC, Mr. Maheshwar Sharma and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Chandigarh, October 16 – As per the notification of the Election Commission of India regarding the General Assembly Elections- 2019 in Haryana, scheduled on October 21, 2019, there shall be restrictions on conduct of any exit poll and publication and dissemination of result of such exit poll in electronic and print media after the announcement of elections till 6.30 pm on October, 21, 2019.

Sharing more information in this regard, Haryana’s Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. Inder Jeet said that on October 21, 2019, Haryana will go for poll from 7 am to 6 pm. In accordance with the provisions of Section 126A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (in short R.P. Act, 1951), displaying any election matter including results of any opinion poll or any other poll survey, in any electronic media or print media and any other means, would be prohibited during the period of 48 hours ending with the hours fixed for conclusion of poll and till half an hour after the poll in the respective polling areas in connection with aforesaid General elections.

He further said that according to Section 126A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, under electronic media, Internet, radio and television, which also includes Internet Protocol television, satellite, regional or cable channels, mobile and other media which are of government or private or both are owned by government and private. In print media which includes newspaper, magazine or periodical magazine, or any other document.

It is pertinent to mention here that along with Haryana, the general assembly elections in Maharashtra and bye-elections in 51 Assembly seats in 17 states and bye-elections of one parliamentary constituency of Bihar, one parliamentary constituency of Maharashtra, are scheduled to be held on October 21, 2019.

Chandigarh, October 16 –In view of the upcoming Assembly Bye Elections, scheduled on October 21, 2019 in the 18-Dharamshala and 55- Pachhad Assembly Constituencies of Himachal Pradesh, the Haryana government has decided to give one day exemption to the workers working in the factories located in Haryana.

Giving information in this regard, a spokesman, today said that the exemption will be given to the workers who are registered voters in these constituencies, so that they can exercise their franchise. He said that a notification has been issued by the Labor Department in this regard.
