Haryana Government has invited applications for grant of scholarships to talented sportspersons.
Chandigarh, Dec 11 – Haryana Government has invited applications for grant of scholarships to talented sportspersons who have won medals in national and state competitions held at college and school levels. They sportspersons may apply from December 15, 2016 to January 15, 2017.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department said that under national competitions, the sportsperson who have won first place at college level would get Rs 3,000 annually. Similarly, those who won second and third place would get Rs 2,400 and Rs 1,800 annually, respectively. He said that the sportsperson who have won first place at school level would get Rs 2,400 annually. Similarly, those who won second and third place would get Rs 1,800 and Rs 1,200 annually, respectively.
The spokesman said that under State competitions the sportspersons who won first, second and third place at college level would annually get Rs 2,400, Rs 1,800 and Rs 1,200, respectively. He said that the sportsperson who won first place at school level would get Rs 1,800 annually. Those who got second and third place would get Rs 1,500 and Rs 1,200 annually, respectively, he added.
He said that the sportspersons would have to send their applications to the District Sports and Youth Affairs Officer concerned. They would also have to enclose their sports achievement certificate, eligibility certificate and domicile certificate alongwith their application form.
