64.49 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana

Chandigarh, Nov 25 – More than 64.49 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana as compared to about 57.54 lakh MT of arrival during the corresponding period last year.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of total arrived paddy, 53.54 lakh MT is leviable. The government procurement agencies had procured about 53.23 lakh MT of paddy and over 15.01 lakh MT was procured by millers and dealers.
While referring to arrival of paddy in mandis of various districts, he said that more than 12.41 lakh MT of paddy has arrived in mandis of Karnal, 11.41 lakh MT in Kurukshetra, over 7.61 lakh MT in Kaithal, more than 7.29 lakh MT in Ambala, more than 6.91 lakh MT in Fatehabad, 5.30 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, 3.24 lakh MT in Jind, over 2.08 lakh MT in Sirsa and more than 2.04 lakh MT in Sonipat. He said that similarly, over 1.46 lakh MT of paddy has arrived in Palwal, more than 1.21 lakh MT in Panchkula, 90,140 MT in Hisar, 31,543 MT in Faridabad, 6,066 MT in Mewat, 2,372 MT in Rohtak, 2,730 MT in Jhajjar and 1,166 MT in Gurgaon.
The spokesman said that more than 22.58 lakh MT of paddy has been purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, more than 18.35 lakh MT by HAFED, more than 6.30 lakh MT by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation, 5.67 lakh MT by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 31,801 MT by the Food Corporation of India.
He said that 27,594 MT of bajra has arrived in the mandis, as compared to 21,639 MT during the corresponding period last year. While traders have purchased 21,253 MT of bajra, government agencies have so far procured 6,341 MT of bajra.
