63.09 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy arrival in the mandis of Haryana sofar

Chandigarh, Nov 22 – With over 63.09 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy arrival in the mandis of Haryana sofar during the current Kharif season, the State has exceeded its last year’s record of total arrival of over 61.91 lakh MT of paddy.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival, over 53.21 lakh MT of paddy has been procured by the government agencies which is also on higher side as compared to the procurement of 42.69 lakh MT during corresponding period last year. The millers and dealers have purchased over 9.88 lakh metric tonnes.

Giving details of the purchase made by government agencies, he said that over 22.57 lakh MT of paddy has been purchased by Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department and over 18.34 lakh MT by the HAFED. Haryana Agro Industries Corporation has purchased over 6.30 lakh MT of paddy, Haryana Warehousing Corporation over 5.67 lakh MT and Food Corporation of India has procured 31,770 MT of paddy.

He said that more than 12.41 lakh MT of paddy has arrived in mandis of Karnal, more than 11.31 lakh MT in Kurukshetra, over 7.27 lakh MT in Ambala, more than 7.37 lakh MT in Kaithal, over 6.91 lakh MT in Fatehabad, more than 5.30 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, 3.03 lakh MT in Jind, 1.95 lakh MT in Sirsa, over 1.40 lakh MT in Palwal, more than 1.71 lakh MT in Sonipat, more than 1.21 lakh MT in Panchkula, 83,130 MT in Hisar, 28,208 MT in Faridabad, 5,312 MT in Mewat, 2,085 MT in Rohtak, 2,730 MT in Jhajjar and 993 MT in Gurugram.
