Eight lakh Scouts and Guides were serving in Haryana.
Chandigarh, Nov 7 – Haryana Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, today extended heartiest congratulations to Bharat Scouts and Guides on the occasion of the ‘Flag and Foundation Day’ of the Bharat Scouts and Guides Association and expressed hope that it would continue to serve the society.
On the occasion, officers of Bharat Scouts and Guides called on the Governor at Haryana Raj Bhavan here and presented him with flag sticker and scarf of the Association.
State Secretary, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Mr. S.S. Kaushal, informed the Governor that eight lakh Scouts and Guides were serving in Haryana. He said that while Haryana accounts for only two per cent of the total population of the country, about 14 per cent of the Scouts and Guides in the country belong to the State, making it the third-largest contributor to the Association after Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
