More than 27.37 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy arrived in the mandis of Haryana .
Chandigarh, Oct 14 – More than 27.37 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy have so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana More than 27.37 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy have so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana whereas during this period last year, 20.56 lakh MT paddy had arrived in the mandis.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of total arrived paddy, 27.27 lakh MT is leviable. The government procurement agencies have procured more than 27.07 lakh MT and 29,987 MT was procured by millers and dealers.
He said that more than 7.72 lakh MT paddy has arrived in mandis of Kurukshetra, about 6.39 lakh MT in Karnal, about 4.43 lakh MT in Kaithal, about 4.03 lakh MT in Ambala, about 1.92 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, about 1.19 lakh MT in Fatehabad, 63,769 MT in Panchkula, 54,067 MT in Jind, 38,044 MT in Sirsa, 6,899 MT in Palwal, 3,401 MT in Hisar, 2,470 MT in Sonipat, 230 MT in Faridabad, 133 MT in Rohtak and 15 MT in Jhajjar.
The spokesman said that more than 12.42 lakh MT of paddy have purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, more than 9.09 lakh MT have been purchased by Hafed, more than 3.22 lakh MT have been purchased by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation, more than 2.27 lakh MT have been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 5,665 MT have been purchased by the Food Corporation of India.
He said that 14,334 MT of bajra has arrived in the mandis, as compared to 6,573 MT during the corresponding period last year, he added. While traders have purchased 11,638 MT of bajra, government agencies have so far procured 2,696 MT.
