16 cases of dengu reported from various health institutions in Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, 21st September, 2016: Today 16 cases of dengue has been reported from various health institutions which includes10 new cases and 6 confirmed amongst probable cases(till the release of press note). Most of the cases of dengue are being reported from Sector 41, 42,45, 15, Manimajra, maloya and maulijagran.No fresh case of Chickungunya has been reported in any of the health institution.Testing facility for chickungunya has been started in GMCH sector 32. To further strengthen the preventive activites, daily fumigation is being carried out alongwith strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources. Till date 30 challans, 50 show cause notices and more than 2459 notices have been issued to the defaulters.
An advisory for school children is also being issued for prevention against mosquito bite for prevention of malaria and dengue.

Free Dengue testing facility is available at Department of Virology, PGIMER Chandigarh, Department of Microbiology GMCH-32, GMSH-16 and District Priority Lab (IDSP) at Civil Hospital Manimajra
