Narendra Modi will inaugurate the year-long celebrations of Haryana State’s Golden Jubilee on November 1 next at Gurgaon.

Chandigarh, September 5- Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi will inaugurate the year-long celebrations of Haryana State’s Golden Jubilee on November 1 next at Gurgaon. The same day, the process to set up Gurgaon Development Authority (GDA) would begin and Gurgaon would be developed as a Super Smart City for which a Rs 500 crore project would be implemented.
While announcing this at a press conference in Gurgaon today, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Mr Nitin Gadkari would launch a project to construct underpasses or flyovers at IFFCO Chowk to ease traffic congestion on National Highway No. 8 connecting Delhi and Gurgaon, Signature Tower and Rajiv Chowk in Gurgaon.
Mr Manohar Lal said that a Real Estate Regulatory Bill would soon be notified. Gurgaon was being referred as Millennium City, Smart City or Global City, but the State Government has a plan for its integrated development. Although the Smart City programme of Central Government includes Karnal and Faridabad, yet Gurgaon would be developed as a Super Smart City. He said that the construction of Manesar to Kundli expressway would begin within this month.
He said that Haryana has jumped from 14th to seventh place in case of Ease of Doing Business and a target has been fixed to make it reach fifth place. He said that Gurgaon is among those five cities that have been chosen for implementing start-ups for employment. A start-up warehouse incubation centre would also be made functional in Gurgaon. He said that all the hindrances in the rapid development of Gurgaon were being removed.
In reply to a question, he said that in addition to National Highway No. 8 connecting Gurgaon with Delhi, the connectivity was being further improved. Greater Southern Peripheral Road was extended and it was got declared as a National Highway. The flyover on Manesar and Bilaspur crossings and repair of roads in Gurgaon would be completed by December 31,2016. He said that there was also a plan to have metro rail service from Sector 22, Dwarka to IFFCO Chowk and between HUDA City Centre and Sohna Road. A smart grid project has been prepared to supply electricity round-the-clock to Gurgaon. City Bus Service would also be introduced in big cities including Gurgaon so as to promote public transport system.
While referring to the significant achievements made by the present State Government during last 22 months, he said that immediately after holding the reins of administration in the State, the Government had made it clear that it would strictly follow zero tolerance policy for corruption and give a transparent administration. He said that while 125 services have been introduced through e-Disha, 11,000 PGT teachers have been transferred with a click of a button. Also, the result of HCS was declared within three hours of the completion of interview. This, he said, had perhaps happened for the first time in the history of the State.
While replying to the questions on problem being faced by the people in Gurgaon, the Chief Minister said that these issues were not new, but it would take time to redress them. The roads of Municipal Corporation in Gurgaon would be got repaired through Public Works (Building and Roads) Department.
