Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) being an independent agency, the State Government has no interference in its functioning-Manohar Lal.

Chandigarh, Sept 5- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today made it clear that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) being an independent agency, the State Government has no interference in its functioning.
The Chief Minister, who was replying to the questions of media persons in Gurgaon today, was asked to comment on the raids conducted by CBI at the residence of former Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Mr Manohar Lal said that Mr Hooda had, in the recent session of Vidhan Sabha , himself said that he was prepared for any investigation, but when the investigation started, he began to level allegations. He said that the investigation has just started and investigation is never a punishment.
