Haryana Police has arrested two members of a vehicle-lifters’ gang

Chandigarh, August 19 – Haryana Police has arrested two members of a vehicle-lifters’ gang, and one other person in a similar case from Gurgaon and recovered a total of 25 two-wheelers from their possession.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Department said that police had received information that two persons near Beri Wala Baag were trying to sell a stolen motorcycle. Acting swiftly, the police arrested both persons who have been identified as Anoop and Suresh, both residents of village Paprawat, Police Station Chhawla, Delhi.
During interrogation, the accused have admitted that they had stolen various two-wheelers in Gurgaon City and kept the same with Dhirender Brahmchari near village Silokhara. Following the information revealed by the accused, the police recovered 17 two-wheelers including 13 motorcycles and four scooties from there. They have stolen these vehicles from two different areas of Gurgaon city, he added.
During further interrogation, the accused have informed that people usually keep registration certificates and other papers of their vehicles in dicky of their two-wheeler. The accused used to sell the stolen vehicles by forging signatures on Form 29 and 30. They have also admitted selling various such vehicles to different persons, he added.
The spokesman said that on the basis of information, the police has arrested one more vehicle-lifter from Bakhtawar Chowk, Gurgaon who has been identified as Jabid, a resident of village Naharpur, district Mewat.
He said that during interrogation, the accused has revealed information of various vehicles thefts. Following this information, six two-wheelers including five motorcycles and one scooty have been recovered from Sohna area. The accused have stolen these two-wheelers from different areas of Gurgaon, he added.
