Maintain vigil and ensure that children did not enter rivers and channels-DC.

Chandigarh, August 10 – Keeping in view the possibility of increase in water level of Ghaggar and other rivers and channels due to heavy rainfall in the hills, the Panchkula District Administration has instructed officers of different Departments to prevent people from entering these rivers originating in the mountains.
Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, Dr. Garima Mittal, today instructed officers of Irrigation and Police Departments, apart from Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars concerned to maintain vigil and ensure that people, particularly children, do no enter these water bodies.
She said that a ban on entering these water bodies during monsoon had already been imposed under Section 144. However, people had still been found violating this ban, she added.
She urged the people, especially those living along the banks of these water bodies, to maintain vigil and ensure that children did not enter these rivers and channels.
