Dr. Rajesh Kumar Chopra convicted by Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Jind in a corruption case.
Chandigarh, August 9 – Haryana Government has terminated the services of Dr. Rajesh Kumar Chopra, Veterinary Surgeon, Government Veterinary Hospital, Khatkar in District Jind as he has been held guilty for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 7 and 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act, with immediate effect.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department said that Dr. Rajesh Kumar Chopra was convicted by Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Jind in a corruption case. The court had sentenced him two years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 2000 under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act and three years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 2000 under section 13(1) (a) of Prevention of Corruption Act with the orders that both sentences shall run concurrently. A criminal case under Section 7 and 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act was registered by State Vigilance Bureau, Hisar against Dr Chopra in the year 2013, he added.
