Uninterrupted power supply during the ongoing summer and paddy season to all the categories of consumers.
Chandigarh, July 28- Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has taken all measures to provide uninterrupted power supply during the ongoing summer and paddy season to all the categories of consumers. Although as compared to the peak demand of 9113 MW recorded during last year, the demand for electricity had shot up to a record high of 9257 MW on July 22, 2016, it was successfully met by the Discoms.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Nigam said that apart from State’s own generation units, the Discoms arranged power from Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Manipur and Chhattisgarh under banking arrangements so as to provide proper and better power supply to the consumers and farmers in paddy and summer season. He said that the demand was expected to remain high due to sporadic rainfall in the State. “Our focus continues to remain on ensuring overall reliability of power supply. Haryana power utilities have arranged enough power to satisfy the requirement of all consumers even during the peak consumption season”, he added.
