Haryana Cabinet expanded today.
Chandigarh, July 22 – The Haryana Cabinet was expanded today as the Governor Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki administered the oath of office and secrecy to three Legislators as Ministers at a simple ceremony held at Haryana Raj Bhawan here. While Mr Vipul Goel was sworn-in as Cabinet Minister, Mr Manish Grover and Dr. Banwari Lal were administered oath as Minister of State with independent charge. All newly sworn-in Ministers took oath in Hindi.
Apart from the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, his Cabinet colleagues, legislators, senior officers of the state government, family members as well as well wishers of the newly sworn-in Ministers were also present on the occasion.
Earlier the Governor accepted the resign of two Ministers namely Mr. Ghanshyam Saraf and Mr. Bikram Singh Thekedar today.
After today’s expansion of the Cabinet, apart from Chief Minister, there are eight Cabinet Ministers, two Ministers of State with Independent charge and three Ministers of State.
Later on, while interacting with media persons, the Chief Minister said in reply to a question concerning reasons for resignation by two Ministers that it is a general process. As the number of Minister is limited in the Cabinet, replacement is the only option to give chance to other legislators. He said that, if required, such changes would also be made in future.
In reply to another question he said that while acting swiftly, a Special Investigation Team has been constituted to further investigate the case of gang rape at Rohtak and the culprits have also been arrested by the police. Investigation is in progress and the guilty would not be spared.However, if any other kind of investigation is required, that too would be got done. He also strongly condemned the incident.
