Tennis Academy would be set up in Haryana-Manohar Lal.

Chandigarh, July 14 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has said that a Tennis Academy would be set up in the state so as to further promote sports among the youth.
Mr Manohar Lal was speaking at pre-draw official dinner of Davis Cup of Tennis Asia Oceania Group-1, Round 2 matches to be played between India and Korea Republic at Chandigarh Club here late last evening. It was jointly organized by All India Tennis Association and Haryana Tennis Association.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana has formulated many schemes to identify talented players at tender age and groom them. The government is also setting up stadia and yogshalas in rural areas. Haryana is becoming a sport hub as a contingent of 21 players of the state would participate in upcoming Rio Olympics.
He also expressed happiness saying that Leander Peas would participate in the Olympics for the seventh time and hoped that Leander Peas and Rohan Bopanna would again bring laurels to the nation by winning medal in Tennis. The players of Haryana had won maximum medals in recent international championship, he added.
The Chief Minister was also introduced to the members of both the Indian and Korean teams. The championship would be held from July 15 to 17, 2016.
Others present on the occasion included President All India Tennis Association Mr Anil Khanna, Adviser to Administrator UT Chandigarh, Mr Parimal Rai, President, Haryana Tennis Association, Mr Sonam Kapoor, Indian Tennis players namely Leander Peas, Rohan Bopana and Sumit Nagar a number of sports persons and other prominent personalities.
