Government plans to open “Satkar Bhojanalaya” in every town

Chandigarh, June 29 – Haryana Government plans to open “Satkar Bhojanalaya” in every town so as to provide quality food to the people at subsidized rates in the state.
The Chief Minister, who was presiding over a meeting of Food and Supplies Department, here today, said that similar bhojanalaya have also been opened in Kurukshetra with the support of Kurukshetra Development Board and a Non-Government Organization. “We want to replicate the same model in every town in the state’, he added.He said that there are several charitable Trusts or NGOs which are ready to open and operate such affordable restaurants where quality food items would be served at economical rates. Food and Supplies Department would ensure to provide wheat to such Trusts or NGOs on subsidized rates.
The Chief Minister asked the officers to formulate a scheme in this direction in consultation with the department concerned so that such eating points could be made functional atleast in half of the state before November 1, 2016, the day Haryana would enter into its golden jubilee year.
Those present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary Food and Supplies Mr S. S. Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Mr Varinder Singh Kundu, Director Food and Supplies Mr Sanjay Joon and other senior officers of the state government.
