significance of cleanliness

Chandigarh, May 30- Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr D. S. Dhesi today emphasised the significance of cleanliness saying that it should be a continued routine in one’s life.
The Chief Secretary was speaking after administering an oath on Cleanliness to senior officers of various Departments at a function organised at Haryana Civil Secretariat, here today.
He said that cleanliness helps in maintaining good health and keeps diseases away. He reminded that Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi had launched ‘Swatch Bharat Abhiyan’ on the birth anniversary of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi in 2014. This campaign aimed at ensuring complete cleanliness in the country by the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in 2019. He said that a cleanliness fortnight was also being observed in State Government offices from May 16 to 31. Under this campaign, old record of offices is being weeded out and special emphasis is being laid on cleanliness in corridors, toilets and canteens. Such activities would continue, he added.
