Wheat in the mandis of Haryana, till date, has touched an all time high of 66.43 lakh Metric Tonnes.

Chandigarh, May 7 – The arrival of wheat in the mandis of Haryana, till date, has touched an all time high of 66.43 lakh Metric Tonnes. As many as 63.18 lakh MT of wheat had arrived in the mandis of the State during the corresponding period last year.
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that the procurement process was running smoothly in the mandis of the State.
He said that out of the total arrival, 66.41 lakh MT have been procured by the government procurement agencies at Minimum Support Price.
Giving details of the wheat procured by government agencies, he said that more than 17.52 lakh MT of wheat have been procured by Food and Supplies Department, whereas HAFED has procured 24.62 lakh MT of wheat. He said that Food Corporation of India has procured 7.17 lakh MT of wheat, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation has procured 5.99 lakh MT, and 11.10 lakh MT of wheat have been procured by Haryana Warehousing Corporation. He said that apart from this, 1,624 MT of wheat have been procured by traders.
He said that district Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival where more than 10.21 lakh MT had so far arrived in the mandis. District Karnal has recorded arrival of more than 7 lakh MT, district Jind more than 6.19 lakh MT, district Kaithal more than 5.82 lakh MT, district Fatehabad more than 5.86 lakh MT, district Kurukshetra more than 5 lakh MT and district Hisar has recorded arrival of more than 4.49 lakh MT. Similarly, district Sonepat has recorded arrival of more than 3.37 lakh MT of wheat, district Yamunanagar more than 2.82 lakh MT, district Ambala 2.58 lakh MT, district Panipat more than 2.51 lakh MT, district Palwal more than 2.37 lakh MT, district Rohtak more than 2.22 lakh MT and district Bhiwani 1.83 lakh MT. District Jhajjar has recorded arrival of 1.21 lakh MT of wheat, district Faridabad 87,386 MT, district Mewat 60,493 MT, district Gurgaon 50,060 MT, district Rewari 34,419 MT, Panchkula 32,691 MT and Narnaul 25,087 MT.
