Vivekanand’s teachings- need of the hour :Swami Amrita
Panchkula-30 Jan,To aware the students about work and teachings of Swami Vivekanand, a seminar in Govt. PG. College Sector 1, panchkula was organised today. The chief speaker was Swami Amrita from Virat Nagar Pinjore , while Archna Mishra , Principle presided over this seminar cum workshop. The programme was organised in association with local centre of Jeevanvarti Swami Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari.
Swami Amrita, the head of Brahmrishi College emphasised on the following of Swami Vivekanand. While addressing the college students and staff she motivated for the self enlightenment as well as of the nation.
Swami Amrita shared her experiences specially working with jail inmates of Burail jail, Chandigarh. She revealed about the behaviour change of jail inmates, which was much appreciated by administration and jail authorities.
Principal Dr. Archna Mishra welcomed the speakers and requested the Vivekanand Kendra to organise Yoga and meditation camp for hostlers and NCC cadets initially. The programme was organised by ‘QUEST – an interdisciplinary committee’ under Nation and character Building series.
The local head of Vivekanand Kendra Alka Gauri Joshi informed about the activities of centre. She highlighted the relevance of teachings of Swami Vivekanand in present scenario. Swadesh Mantra was recited by Addl. Advocate General Naveen Kaushik, associated with the centre.
A documentary on the work and contributing of Eknath G Ranade was shown in the beginning of the workshop. The music department of the college enchanted Gayatri Mantra under the head of Music Mrs. Poonam along with Sulekh Chand.
The programme was compared by Dr. Renuka Dhyani and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Richa Setia, head of QUEST. Students asked questions during the interaction and efficiently replied by Swami Amrita.
Two minutes silence was observed on death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at 11 am during the programme
