Chandigarh, December 28 – Literature is an invaluable legacy of human society and all its genres are very useful. Therefore, the society is in dire need of literature and authors.
This was stated by Haryana Governor, Prof.Kaptan Singh Solanki, after releasing a book titled ‘Sahitya Prapat’ authored by renowned writer, Mr. B.D. Kalia ‘Hamdam’. The book was released at a function held at Haryana Raj Bhawan here today amidst a galaxy of prominent dignitaries from the fields of literature and administration. The book is a collection of the author’s memories of visits to the USA and the UK.
The Governor further said that the creative writings and various literary activities of prominent men of letters not only inculcate the spirit of reformation and creativity among the various sections of the society, but also help in sharing the novel ideas and imagination of the writers with others.
Congratulating the author for his creative book, Prof. Solanki said that an author searches for literature and culture even during his foreign visits. Mr. Kalia also presented the results of his search in the shape of this book.
While introducing the contents of the book, Mr. Kalia said that the aim of his foreign visits was to study literature, lifestyle and social upbringing of the people of those countries. The book also describes the efforts made by NRIs for dissemination of their culture, he added. Social worker, Mr. V.K. Sood, thanked the Governor.
Former Vice-Chancellor, Makhan Lal Chaturvedi Journalism University, Mr. Radhey Shyam Sharma and Secretary to Governor, Mrs. Neelam P. Kasni, were also present on the occasion.
