Mrs. Jain inaugurated the road from Nandi Chowk to Kakroi Chowk, developed at a cost of Rs 70 lakh,
Chandigarh, December 26 – Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain, today laid the foundation stones of and inaugurated various developmental works being carried out at a total cost of Rs one crore in Sonepat.
Speaking on the occasion, the Urban Local Bodies Minister said that CFL streetlights on Sonepat city would be replaced with LED lights, which would not only improve lighting on roads at night, but also drastically reduce electricity consumption. She added that the process of installing LED streetlights as part of a pilot project is being started.
Mrs. Jain inaugurated the road from Nandi Chowk to Kakroi Chowk, developed at a cost of Rs 70 lakh, besides laying the foundation stone of bench, mini high-mast and hut to be installed in the park of Old Housing Board Colony at a cost of Rs 10 lakh, construction work in Ward No. 14 at a cost of Rs 15 lakh and development works to strengthen the sewerage management system in Shankar Colony at a cost of Rs eight lakh.
The Minister said that efforts are being made to find solution for the problems being faced by the people of Sonepat and said that emphasis has been laid on streetlights, beautification of parks and improving sewer management in order to provide better facilities to the people. She urged the people to provide feedback pertaining to problems being faced in their localities.
Keeping in view the demands raised by the people during her tours, the Minister said that various other construction works would be carried out in the city.
