CFL lights installed in all Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipalities of the State would be replaced with LED lights
Chandigarh, December 9 – Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain said that CFL lights installed in all Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipalities of the State would be replaced with LED lights which would reduce power consumption by half and the State Government would not have to incur any expenditure.
Mrs. Jain said that the work of installing LED lights in the cities of the State has been allotted to Energy Efficiency Services Limited which would begin this work within the next two months. Apart from this, the company would look after the maintenance of these lights for the next seven years.
She said that the State Government is carrying out this work under the Street Light National Programme being run by Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi for power conservation. Mr. Modi had launched this scheme on January 5, 2015.
The Minister said that under this programme, the company would have to replace non-functional lights within 48 hours of receiving complaint. She said that the company would also install Centrally Controlled System for operating these lights.
