, Hafed has 1.12 lakh MT of urea in stock for Rabi 2015-16
Chandigarh, November 12 – Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr. Bikram Singh Yadav said that with a view to help the sunflower seed growers in the State, Hafed had started purchase of sunflower seeds in June-July, 2015 and purchased about 4,164 Metric Tonnes (MT) of sunflower seeds at Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 3,750 per quintal whereas at that time the price of sunflower seeds was around Rs 3,000 per quintal.
The Minister said that with the purchase of sunflower seeds by Hafed, the farmers was benefited to the tune of about Rs three crore. He said that Hafed is the largest apex federation of Haryana which has been playing a leading role in serving the farmers of Haryana, as well as consumers in India and overseas.
Mr. Yadav said that Hafed also plays a significant role in arrangement of urea and DAP in the State. During Kharif-2015, Hafed had sold 1.75 lakh MT urea and 63,000 MT DAP through government system. Apart from this, as on October 1, 2015, Hafed has 1.12 lakh MT of urea in stock for Rabi 2015-16 whereas as on October 1, 2014, the open stock of urea was only 46,000 MT.
