Infrastructure is pivotal for the overall development of the nation – Narendra Modi
Chandigarh, November 5 – Describing infrastructure as pivotal for the overall development of the nation, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi today said that Union Government is actively working for strengthening infrastructure in the country, be it road network, rail network, power and water. Hence, we have approved national highway projects costing Rs.32,000 crore for Haryana.
The Prime Minister was addressing the gathering after laying foundation stone of three major highway projects having length of 341 kms at Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Rai in district Sonipat today. These projects include Western Peripheral Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway and eight-laning of Highway Section from Mukarba Chowk (Delhi) to Panipat.
While congratulating the Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal, Mr. Modi said that though Haryana is a small state but commencement of road projects of about Rs 32,000 crore in a year is a big achievement for the State. He said that strengthening of infrastructure facilities would not only improve the quality of life but also provide ample employment opportunities to the youth.
