Awareness about the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” programme in Haryana,
Chandigarh, October 12 – In order to spread further awareness about the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” programme in Haryana, logo of the Programme would be stamped on the hand of every voter at the time of voting.
While giving this information today, a spokesman of the Department said that the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi had launched the Programme on January 22 from Panipat in 100 districts of the country with lowest sex ratio which included 12 districts of Haryana. He said that the sex ratio in some districts of the State has improved after the implementation of the Programme. In Faridabad, the sex ratio has improved from 823 to 857 between January, 2015, and August, 2015. Similarly, the sex ratio has gone up from 800 to 855 in Jhajjar, 831 to 852 in Kurukshetra, 892 to 899 in Panchkula, 716 to 788 in Rewari, 816 to 842 in Sonipat and 850 to 871 in Yamunanagar.
He said that various activities would be taken up in 12 districts of the State with low sex ratio in the month of October-November, 2015. Sanjhi competitions at block and district level would be organized in liaison with District Public Relations Officer by October 31, 2015. Haryana Diwas would be celebrated as Beti Diwas on November 1, 2015 by planting trees by name of girl child, distribution of certificates to honour parents of girl child, hold training camps at block level etcGram Panchayat Signature Campaign would be organized at village level by placing a signature board at Panchayat level with the Logo of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and all villagers would be requested to sign on that board, he added.
