The security of Australians who are residents of Haryana and the Australian tourists dicussed

Chandigarh September 30:  A three-member delegation led by High Commissioner of Australia to India, Mr. Patrick Suckling met Haryana Director General of Police Mr. Yash Pal Singal here today and discussed matter related to the security of Australians who are residents of Haryana and the Australian tourists travelling through Haryana to various destinations in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh etc.

          Mr. Singal urged the Australian High Commissioner for speedy sharing of information, relating to safety and security of Australian citizen residing in Haryana through prescribed channels.

          The Australian delegation also shown keen interest in the training of Haryana Police personnel and offered to train the trainers of Haryana Police in crime investigation, scientific aids to investigation, traffic management etc.

          In the meeting, discussion was also held about menace of drugs and its ill effects on the society. Apart from this, issue of terrorism both national and international was also discussed and both agreed to work jointly in this area.
