Paddy procurement started in the mandies of Haryana
Chandigarh, September 26 – Paddy procurement has started in the mandis of Haryana, and so far, 1,410 metric tonnes (MT) of paddy have arrived in these mandis, whereas paddy procurement had not started during this period last year.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that so far, 1,310 MT of paddy have arrived in Ambala and 100 MT paddy have arrived in Karnal.
He said that out of the total arrival, 800 MT paddy have been purchased by Food and Supplies Department, whereas 610 MT have been purchased by HAFED.
He said that farmers have been advised to clean and dry their harvest properly before bringing them to the market so that they do not have to face any problems.
