, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki released a the Punjabi edition of autobiography of Swami Paramhans Yoganand

Chandigarh, September 21:           The Governor of Haryana & Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki released a the  Punjabi edition of autobiography of Swami Paramhans Yoganand Ji at Tegore Theater here today. The autobiography “An Autobiography of a Yogi” was translated by Swami Shraddhananda Ji in Punjabi .

          Speaking on the occasion the Governor said that 21th centenary is of technology as well as of Yoga. Yoga is not just about fitness or exercise; it is about changing one’s lifestyle and helps in attaining spiritual goal also, he added.

          Governor said that, yoga got a strong leg up on the world stage when Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narender Modi called for observing an International Yoga Day, describing the ancient science as “India gift to the world.”

          Prof. Solanki said today yoga is enjoying rising popularity in the country and abroad. He said in the end of 19th century Swami Vivekanand spread the knowledge of yoga, Vedanta and spiritual values of India in western countries and that was succeeded by Swami Paramhans Yoganand Ji.

Swami Shraddhananda Ji also addressed the gathering. Vivek Atrey DC, Panchkula presented vote of thanks.

          Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion includes Mrs. Neelam P. Kasani, Secretary to Governor and Commissioner Ambala Division.
