Chandigarh will updateNPR database

Chandigarh17Sept.The 1st phaseof CensusofIndia 2011 House listing & Housing Census was conducted from 15th April to 31st May in 2010. During the time a household schedule was filled up for the preparation of National Population Register (NPR) under provisions of the Citizenship Act 1955 and the Citizenship (Registration of Citizens and issue of National Identity Cards) Rules, 2003. Now the Government of India has decided to update the NPR database and seeding of Aadhaar number in the NPR database of all persons who are usually residing within the jurisdiction of Local Registrar.
The exercise is going to commence from 15th September to 14th October 2015 in Chandigarh. Designated government officials will be visiting the areas for house to house enumeration for the updation of NPR Booklet. The residents are, requested to give active co-operation in this National Task and keep the following items readily available for updation :-
1. Aadhaar
2. EID Enrollment Slip, if Aadhaar Card not made
3. Ration Card, if issued
4. Mobile Number of all the members
Availability of these will be convenient for updation of the record. In case of the new resident/household a new form will be filled up by the enumerator
