Chandigarh, August 28 – Criticising Opposition leaders for their statements regarding Social Security Pensions, Haryana Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain has said that these were misleading and were not based on facts.

The Minister added that to ensure complete transparency in the process of pension disbursement, the funds were being transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ accounts through banks and post offices. “A case regarding bungling of funds worth crores of rupees in Karnal has come to our notice. This happened due to wrong methods of disbursement used by the previous government. We are investigating the matter. Now Opposition leaders are spreading misinformation to garner headlines,” she added.
Mrs Jain said that Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal himself had transferred pension arrears amounting to Rs 16.7 crore directly to the accounts of 1.42 lakh beneficiaries at the launch of the ‘Thari Pension Thare Pass’ scheme recently. She added that some beneficiaries were facing issues as there were differences in their bank and pension account details, and this was being corrected.
