Father of Martyr Rohit Kaushal, Mr M.S. Kaushal donated Rs 1 lakh in Flag Day Fund.
Chandigarh, Dec 7 – Haryana Governor, Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki donated towards the Flag Day Fund on the occasion of the National Armed Forces Flag Day at Haryana Raj Bhawan here today.
On this occasion, father of Martyr Rohit Kaushal, Mr M.S. Kaushal donated Rs 1 lakh in Flag Day Fund. This Day is celebrated every year all over the country to help and remember our brave martyrs, war widows, wounded soldiers and their dependents. Assistant Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board, Lt. Col (Retd.) Rahul Yadav and other officers of the Board has pinned Flag Day sticker to the Governor.
On the occasion, the Governor said that Flag Day gives us an opportunity to reaffirm our solidarity with the Armed Forces and recognize their contribution and services. We should be grateful to the soldiers and their families, he added.
In a separate message issued here today, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the day is observed to remember the brave soldiers of our Armed Forces who have sacrificed their lives for the country. The Flag Day offers an opportunity to all of us to demonstrate our solidarity with defence forces by contributing generously towards the well being of serving as well as retired personnel of our Armed Forces and their families, he added.
The Chief Minister said that the people of the state have always honoured the brave soldiers and their families. The State government has also implemented a number of schemes for their welfare. He also urged the people to contribute voluntarily towards the noble cause of rehabilitation of war widows, disabled defence personnel and need ex-servicemen and make the Armed Forces Flag Day a great success.
