Haryana Government would observe World Soil Day throughout the state on December 5, 2017 .
Chandigarh, Dec 1 – Haryana Government would observe World Soil Day throughout the state on December 5, 2017 to create awareness regarding soil health management among the farming community and to improve productivity in agriculture and income of the farmers. In this direction, the State-level function would be organised at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jhajjar.
While stating this here today, Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi said that one function would be organised in each district. He said that the Deputy Directors of Agriculture would ensure distribution of at least 500 Soil Health Cards (SHCs) in each district. Soil Scientists or Experts would be invited to deliver lectures on use of SHCs for judicious use of fertilizers and to sustain the fertility of soil, he added.
