Plan to install CCTV cameras in all courts of Haryana.

Chandigarh, Nov 25–The Punjab and Haryana High Court has prepared a comprehensivecThis work will be completed in four phases.

This was disclosed by Mr Justice Rajesh Bindal, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court, after going round an exhibition related to legal literacy organized as a part of the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra, today.

Mr Bindal said the facility of video-conferencing had been provided in courts, jails, hospitals and laboratories. As many as 3.27 lakh under- trials have so far been produced in different courts from jails through video-conferencing. Besides, doctors have conducted 14,600 examinations through video-conferencing.

The mechanism of gathering evidence of doctors through video-conferencing has also been successfully implemented in the PGIMER, Chandigarh. The minister concerned had said in reply to a question in Parliament that this mechanism was being implemented throughout the country. A total of Rs 47 crore has been saved with the help of this mechanism besides saving valuable time of doctors and easing traffic on roads, Mr Bindal added.

The exhibition displays information related to the e-Court Project. The website of the Punjab and Haryana High Court is the only website in the country to get five-star rating. It carries information on court orders, verdicts, case status, display board, roster, court fee and other facilities. All interim and final orders are also uploaded on the website. About 30 lakh orders are available on the website for the benefit of general public, Mr Bindal added.
