66.73 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in Haryana.
Chandigarh, Nov 17– More than 66.73 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in Haryana as compared to over 61.02 lakh MT of paddy arrived during the corresponding period last year.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival of paddy, government agencies had so far procured over 58.49 lakh MT of paddy whereas the remaining quantity of over 8.24 lakh MT of paddy was procured by the millers.
He said that more than 27.18 lakh MT of paddy have purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. Over 19.16 lakh MT by Hafed, over 6.40 lakh MT have been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation, over 5.54 lakh MT by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation and 19,585 MT have been purchased by the Food Corporation of India.
He said that more than 14.46 lakh MT paddy has arrived in mandis of Karnal, over 11.92 lakh MT in Kurukshetra, over 8.55 lakh MT in Kaithal and over 7.86 lakh MT in Ambala. Similarly, over 8.22 lakh MT Fatehabad, over 6.04 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, over 3.63 lakh MT in Jind, over 2.03 lakh MT in Sirsa, over 1.30 lakh MT in Panipat, over 1.30 lakh MT in Panchkula, 78,596 MT in Palwal, 29,077 MT in Rohtak, 27,741 MT in Jhajjar and 2,459 MT in Gurugram.
