Haryana Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki today released the book “Social Work Intervention with Speech and Hearing Impaired” at Raj Bhawan here, authored by Dr. Sharanjeet Kaur.
Chandigarh, Nov 13 – Haryana Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki today released the book “Social Work Intervention with Speech and Hearing Impaired” at Raj Bhawan here, authored by Dr. Sharanjeet Kaur, in the presence of Mr Indresh, prominent thinker and senior RSS functionary.
Speaking on this occasion, the Governor congratulated Dr Sharanjeet Kaur for her attempt and and wished her success for her future endeavors. He emphasised that the disabled children deserve special care and attention of our society and should be provided equal opportunities. He asserted that three Hs – Head, Heart and Hands were crucial for anyone to engage meaningfully in Social Work in real sense. He complemented the author for this rare combination in her professional and personal approach to the social work.
Mr Indresh said that a sensitive value conscious society always respects its marginalised and disadvantaged members. He told that our values and ethics determine our action and fate and that it was really divine to help these special children.
Author and Principal, Welfare Center for Persons with Speech and Hearing Impairment, Gurugram Dr. Sharanjeet Kaur told that she has always felt contributing to the well-being of hearing and speech disabled in the country- a reason she quit her well paid job in Canada and came back to serve the country. She informed that the book provides a lot of information on Haryana Government schemes, plans and benefits regarding the hearing impaired of the state. She hoped that the present book would be quite useful for academicians, health and social policymakers, practitioners, and even for the beneficiaries including parents of the disabled.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, former Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bhim Singh Dahiya, Director, Consortium for Educational Communication, New Delhi, Prof Rajbir Singh and number of senior academicians from Panjab University, Chandigarh, Kurukshetra University and other neighbouring universities were also present on this occasion.
