Chandigarh, November 5: Jind is all set to become the first district of the State where Counseling and Psychological Services Center will be set up in all schools of the district with an aim to make the children mentally strong and build them as a good and responsive citizen so that they could make vital contribution in building a strong nation.
This was disclosed by Deputy Commissioner, Jind Mr Amit Khatri after presiding over the meeting of District Child Welfare Council in Jind.
Mr Khatri said that in order to make the students aware of their rights and responsibilities towards the nation and also to make them strong mentally, it has been decided to set up Counseling and Psychological Services Center in all schools of the district. Deliberation has so far been held with 33 schools in this regard and the Principal of all these schools have appreciated this initiative, he added.
The Deputy Commissioner said that he has directed the District Child Welfare Officer, Mr Anil Malik to organize programmes in all schools of the district and talked to the Principals regarding the setting up of these Centres and submit report to him so that the work for the same could be started at the earliest.
He said that in these centres, psychologists, educationists and eminent persons associated with the field of social service would apprise the students about various important issues. These persons would be those who are associated with the Haryana State Child Welfare Council. Apart from this, those working for the socio-economic upliftment of the people could also impart knowledge to the students at these centres. For this, they could contact District Child Welfare Officer, the Deputy Commissioner added.
