M.S. Duhan, a resident of Haryana, has won the prestigious Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Award

Chandigarh, Nov 4 – Deputy Director General (E), Doordarshan Delhi, Mr. M.S. Duhan, a resident of Haryana, has won the prestigious Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Award for his Article titled “Structural Mechanics of TV Towers: Strengthening for Hauling up of the Additional DTT Antennas”.
Mr. Sheng Zhifan, CTO, Academy of Broadcasting Science of SAPPRFT/RTPRC-China presented the prize to Ms. Supriya Sahu, Director General, Doordarshan on behalf of Mr. Duhan during the 54th ABU General Assembly meeting held at Chengdu, Sichuan, China.
Mr. Duhan’s article was highly appreciated by broadcasters of various countries and was adjudged as commendable first. It carries a citation and cash of 300 Dollars. He is first Indian to receive two Awards from ABU and has brought laurels to the Nation and Doordarshan. Generally, this category of award is dominated mainly by professionals from Japan, South Korea and China.
Earlier, Mr. Duhan had also won the Best Article Award from ABU during 2015. He has been recipient of number of awards including four time winner of Doordarshan Awards for his outstanding contribution in TV broadcasting. Mr. Duhan has immense passion towards promoting Digital Terrestrial TV in India and to propel it into its next growth phase.
Mr. Duhan has published many papers and articles on issues related to Terrestrial TV and Radio Transmission and Usage of RF Spectrum, in the National and International Journals and participated in TV Talk shows. He has contributed significantly in the implementation of Digital Terrestrial TV Transmitters in India and finalization of BIS Standard for their receivers.
