Haryana Government is developing one park in each Municipal Corporation, one each in Municipal Council and 22 parks in the Municipal Committees
Chandigarh, Oct 27 – Haryana Government is developing one park in each Municipal Corporation, one each in Municipal Council and 22 parks in the Municipal Committees in Swarna Jayanti year in the state.
While stating this here today, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain said that a proposal to release Rs 2.5 crore to Municipal Corporations, Rs 1.5 crore to Municipal Councils and Rs one crore to Municipal Committees for the purpose have already been approved by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal. These parks would be maintained by involving the Resident Welfare Associations or any other agency.
She said that all the 80 Urban Local Bodies of the state have been declared as Open Defection Free (ODF). As many as 78 ULBs have been certified by the third party agencies appointed by the Centre government while the similar certification is under process in two ULBs, which had already, self declared itself ODF.
Mrs Jain said that all the ULBs have been divided into 15 clusters for construction of solid waste management plant. Out of which, letter of award had been issued to the concessionaire for two clusters that is Faridabad-Gurugram and Sonipat-Panipat. The bids have also been invited for the same purpose for six clusters namely Ambala-Karnal, Rewari, Bhiwani, Fatehabad-Bhuna and Panchkula. The bids for the remaining clusters would likely to be invited by the end of December 2017, she added.
The Minister said that coffee table books of 50 cities would also be published to apprise the people about the history like topography, profile, heritage, cultural aspects and major programmes.
