Chandigarh, Oct 23 –The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, has said that a committee would be constituted to look into the issue of theft of soil from Dadupur Nalvi Canal. The matter would be got investigated by the State Vigilance Bureau.
The Chief Minister was interacting with media persons after meeting the farmers who had called on him to thank him for the decision to cancel the notification of Dadupur Nalvi Canal, here today.
Replying to a question, the Chief Minister said the state government was aware of the theft of soil from Kaushalya Dam in Panchkula, Ottu lake in Sirsa, and the Hansi Butana Canal, and these would also be got investigated.
He said Rajbir Singh, a farmer, had informed him that Balwan and Company, a contractor from Rohtak, had taken the soil from his field. This matter would also be got investigated at the earliest and the contractor would not be spared.
The opposition has been politicizing the issue, but now it has become clear that the canal is not in interest of farmers, he added.
