45.19 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in Haryana.

Chandigarh, Oct 22– More than 45.19 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in Haryana during current Kharif season as compared to over 41.45 lakh MT of paddy arrived during the corresponding period last year.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival of paddy, government agencies had so far procured over 43.52 lakh MTof paddy whereas the remaining quantity of over 1.66 lakh MT of paddy was procured by the millers.
He said that more than 20.59 lakh MT of paddy have purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. Over 14.42 lakh MT by Hafed, 4.02 lakh MT by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation, over 4.40 lakh MT have been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 9,279 MT have been purchased by the Food Corporation of India.
He said that more than 10.33 lakh MT paddy has arrived in mandis of Kurukshetra, 11.21 lakh MT in Karnal, 6.62 lakh MT in Kaithal and 6.20 lakh MT in Ambala. Similarly, about 3.70 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, 3.78 lakh MT Fatehabad, 1.14 lakh MT in Jind, 96,925 MT Panchkula, 61,262 MT in Sirsa, 18,975 MT in Palwal, 34,605 MT in Panipat, 3,268 MT in Jhajjar and 1,940 MT in Rohtak.
He said that 23,136 MT of bajra has arrived in the mandis in the state. The traders have purchased 4,080 MT of bajra and the rest bajra of 19,056 MT was procured by government agencies.
