Scheme for ‘Scholarship to Scheduled Castes students studying in Government ITIs’ from 2017-2018 initiated.

Chandigarh Oct 15- Haryana Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Department has initiated scheme ‘Scholarship to Scheduled Castes students studying in Government ITIs’ from 2017-2018.
While giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that this scheme would be implemented through Skill Development and Industrial Training Department. The objective of the scheme is to promote skill development trainings in Scheduled Castes (SCs) youth and to enable them for self employment and getting jobs in private and government sectors. He said that scholarship would be given at the rate of Rs 200 per month for each academic year. In addition, Rs 15 per month as tuition fee would be reimbursed.
He said that the scholarship would be given to all SC students who are resident of Haryana, studying in government ITI’s in Haryana, belong to Scheduled Castes of Haryana. The students taking benefits of this scheme would not be eligible to get benefit under any other State or Central Scheme. Scholarship would be provided in the Aadhar linked bank account of student, he added.
Scholarship would be given in two equal installments in each academic year. First installment would be given after taking admission in the institute and second after fulfilling the attendance criteria for appearing in examination, he added.
