A Mobile App- Tic Tic launched

Chandigarh, 9th October, 2017: A mobile App “Tic Tic” for the live tracking of CTU City bus services was launched today by His Excellency Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T Chandigarh, Sh. V.P Singh Badnore at Rajbhawan.
The occasion was graced with the presence of Adviser to Administrator, Home Secretary, Secretary Transport, Director Transport and Other CTU Officials of Chandigarh Administration. This application provides real time GPS bus location data for city buses operating in Tri-city. It uses predictive algorithm to provide estimated arrival times. CTU team geo tagged all city bus routes including all bus stops before launching this app. Anybody can Access Bus Tracker using mobile phones and smart devices that have access to the internet. The mobile application is available on the Android Store. This mobile app will not only be beneficial for the commuters but will also help CTU to have stringent operational controls by analyzing the real time data received through App.

The app has following key features:
· Locate- nearby bus stops and expected time to reach at that particular bus stop by the commuter from his place

· Routes- with estimated bus tracker information as the Bus approaches Bus stops. Estimated times of arrival are predicted for stops.

· Trip Planner- Commuters can plan their journey on City Bus Service by entering Origin and destination inputs.

· The commuter can also set alarms and get notification on his/her mobile on arrival of the selected bus.

Currently seven city bus routes(2F,30B,3,79,211,203) of City Bus services have been put on this app on pilot basis. These seven also have all voice announcements and display on inner passenger information boards for the stoppages within the buses for on board commuters.

CTU will be putting all city bus routes on this mobile app by adding three to four routes every week.
His Excellency Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T Chandigarh, Sh. V.P Singh Badnore, appreciated the efforts of the entire team and congratulated the management on the launch.
