Mr Manohar Lal today announced to enhance the annual income ceiling for availing grant under Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojna from Rs one lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh.
Chandigarh, Oct 5- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today announced to enhance the annual income ceiling for availing grant under Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojna from Rs one lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh. Under this scheme, a grant of Rs 51,000 is provided to widows of all categories at the time of marriage of their daughter and Rs 41,000 to the Scheduled Castes and denotified tribes families living below poverty line.
The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti at Valmiki Bhawan, sector-12A, Panchkula today.
While extending greetings to the people on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, he urged the people to emulate the high ideals and principles of Maharishi Valmiki and work for the welfare and betterment of the society by following the path shown by him.
He also announced that Sector-12A chowk would be named after Maharishi Valmiki. He said that a permanent statue of Maharishi Valmiki should be installed in the Bhawan. He announced to give a discretionary grant of Rs 11 lakh for this purpose and other works of Valmiki Bhawan.
He said that Government has decided to celebrate Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti in a befitting manner in every district of the State from October 3 to 10. Similarly, jayantis of Guru Ravidass, Sant Kabir and Bhim Rao Ambedkar are celebrated by the government at state level every year.
The Chief Minister also exhorted the students to take benefit of scholarship schemes of both centre and state government.
Member of Parliament Mr Rattan Lal Kataria, President, Haryana Valmiki Mahasabha Mr Raj Kumar Valmiki and Principal Secretary, Welfare of SC and BC, Mr Anil Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Mrs Gauri Prasher Joshi, District BJP President Mr Deepak Sharma and other officers were also present on this occasion.
