Financial Inclusion Camp on 4th October 2017.

Chandigarh, 29th Sept, 2017: To create public awareness about different financial inclusion flagship programmes of the Government of India and various modes of digital payments, it has been decided that Financial Inclusion Camps will be organized from 25th September to 17th October 2017 across the country at fifty identified locations. Chandigarh will witness the camp on 4th October at Parade ground.

A press conference was organised for the same today chaired by Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, Finance Secretary, Chandigarh Administration along with Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh. The Finance Secretary, briefed the media that the camps will have facilities on account opening, Aadhaar number and mobile number seeding with bank accounts, handholding for downloading BHIM app, distribution and activation of RuPay cards, merchants’on-boarding for various digital payments, promoting digital payments under National Digital Payment Mission (NDPM), enrolment for social security schemes, namely, Pradhan Mantri Jeeven Jyoti bima Yojana, Prdhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, information on Mudra loan an stand Up India loan, Aadhaar enrolment and updation, agricultural credit etc. Various banks of Chandigarh have partnered with Chandigarh administration to support the initiative.

Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, Finance Secretary said, “the basic objective of the Government of India by organizing this camp is to promote digital payment methods to encourage consumers and merchants to increasingly shift to these payment modes”. He further said that the camp will enable the administration to reach out to the people and facilitate various modes of digital payments enabling users to transact anytime from anywhere and create awareness on various financial inclusion instruments.
